The Knights of Columbus basketball free-throw contest was conducted by Carrington Council 4951 on Sunday, January 28 at the Carrington High School east gym. James Oatis was the 10-year-old winner. The Harvey-Wells County girls basketball team finished out District 8 competition picking up two big wins this past week. The Hornets hosted Drake-Anamoose in Fessenden and held off a third quarter charge to claim the victory. The Hornets also picked up a big win over Lewis & Clark in Berthold to finish district play with four wins. The Harvey-Wells County Boys Basketball team went 3-0 this past week picking up District 8 victories over Drake-Anamoose and Lewis & Clark and also defeating Kidder County. Carrington High School graduate Payton Smith has a clear vision in front of him, and he knows very well how to pursue it.
