The popular saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child." For Tysen and Markie Rosenau, along with son, Brayden and daughter, Ember, it took all of that village (in the extended sense) and more to help bring their baby girl and little sister, Peyton, into the world. The labor and delivery once they got to Jamestown Regional Medical Center was fairly routine as childbirth goes, as Peyton Ann Rosenau was born at 12:24 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1. However, the journey to get there was the...

My mother-in-law, Marge Jacobson, owned and operated the flower shop in Langdon for 31 years. She passed away last February, aged 95. Sometimes our lives go in unexpected directions. In 1967, Marge and her husband Floyd were raising four children. Floyd was a carpenter, and Marge earned extra income for the family by operating a cake decorating business out of their home. Both Carrington and New Rockford hosted their annual archery tournaments over the past two weeks. Dear Savvy Senior, What is the IRS standard tax deduction for 2021? I didn't file a tax return last tax year (2020) because I lost my job and my income in March due to COVID.
