  • Celebrating 125 years in Bowdon

    Bowdon is 125 years old! Hundreds of alumni and visitors rolled into town for the festivities July 12-14, and there were over 100 entries in the parade on Saturday morning. All in attendance had the opportunity to vote for their favorite parade entry, and "People's Choice" winners were named afterwards. The first place winner was "Through the Years" by the Suckut family (shown above), which recounted the 125-year history of Bowdon, listing many of its Main Street businesses over the years....

  • Memorial Tractor Trek held July 11

    The annual Jim Carr and Gary Rosenau Tractor Trek was held on Thursday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. The drivers started at Carr's shop which is located 1.75 miles east of Kracht Implement. They preceded into town past Golden Acres Manor, down Main Street, then headed north to John Holth's farm where they briefly rested. After that, they headed east back to Carr's shop where supper was served....
