  • Titans take first net win in five sets

    Erik Gjovik|Sep 11, 2023

The most draining matches can end up being the most satisfying ones, especially if the team you favor is the one with the victory at the end of the evening. Griggs/Midkota endured a gauntlet of a five-set win over the Benson County Wildcats Thursday night, August 31, in Maddock, with three of the five games going into extra points. The 27-25, 26-28, 25-20, 24-26 and 15-12 win for the Titans (1-1) was their first of the 2023 fall season after a straight-set loss to M-P-B two nights before....

  • Thunder fall to Rebs, Rockets

    Erik Gjovik|Sep 11, 2023

The good feelings that accompanied the first week-and-change of the 2023 volleyball season for the M-P-B Thunder took a few temporary setbacks Thursday evening, August 31, in Edgeley, and last Tuesday night in New Rockford. In a 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 17-25, 23-25) loss to the Edgeley-Kulm/Montpelier Rebels, the Thunder battled point-by-point, but couldn't get the crucial points late in sets to hold off an athletic home squad. Junior Maddie Gefroh's 14 kills were a team-best, trailed closely behind...

  • Rexin third at A&B Crossover meet

    Sep 11, 2023

In her final year of varsity golf for the Carrington Cardinal girls, Kacie Rexin has shown she can compete with the best in the state. Rexin was the only CHS golfer to compete in the prestigious A&B Crossover at Oxbow Country Club on August 21, and the senior proved she belonged in her lofty company. Her score of three-over-par 75 finished only behind the defending Class A and Class B champions, Rose Solberg of Fargo Davies (70, -2) and Avery Bartels of Kindred (71, -1). She and the rest of the...
