We've had a good flow defensively, and...

  • M-P-B's year ends with loss to Oakes

    Erik Gjovik|Nov 14, 2022

It can be downright difficult to make a name for yourself in the ultra-competitive Region 3, but the M-P-B Thunder certainly tried. Coming into play for the penultimate tournament before the State B event in Bismarck, a grand total of six different teams had at least 22 victories before they stepped on the court at Napoleon High School last Monday. The Thunder were matched up with District 5 runner-up Oakes in the nightcap November 7, and every last ounce of fight that M-P-B squeezed out...

  • A Bearcat of a time: Hornets fall to North Star in straight sets

    Lane Moellenkamp|Nov 14, 2022

The motto, “It’s not how you start but how you finish”, really held true for the North Star Bearcats and the Harvey-Wells County Hornets in the opening round of the Region 4 Volleyball Tournament. The Bearcats finished the first two games in that fashion on their way to defeating the Hornets, 3-0, on Monday, November 7, at the Devils Lake Sports Center and end the Hornets’ volleyball season. The Hornets would be the team that started the night with the hot hand, as Ashley Keller’s two kills propelled HWC to an early 6-2 advantage. The Bearcats...

  • North Dakota Outdoors: If you see something report it

Doug Leier, Biologist, North Dakota Game and Fish Dept.|Nov 14, 2022

The time to report a possible poaching violation is not the next time you see a game warden. Complaining about a situation you witnessed during deer or any other hunting season at the cafe, gas station, watering hole or at the high school game doesn't help. The best advice I can give is if you see a possible game and fish violation, report it via the Report All Poachers hotline or local law enforcement. There's no shortage of situations, scenarios and stories. The bottom line is if you see...
