    Griggs/Midkota's run to second place at the season-opening Lake Region Invitational in Devils Lake Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 5-7, featured a hodgepodge of game situations that, with one exception, all went the Titans' way.     The M/P-B Thunder girls struggled in a 48-17 loss in Oakes to the Tornadoes on Saturday, Dec. 7, but earned their first win of the season three nights later with a 62-7 result over the Warwick Lady Warriors.     The numbers game was on full display for the Carrington wrestling program, and it showed in the team scores for each squad at the Velva Invitational Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7.     Carrington’s boys and girls wrestlers were also occupied with head-to-head duals, as both teams traveled for a triangular at Rugby on Thursday, Dec. 5 and the boys faced Grafton and Larimore last Tuesday, Dec. 10, to get in additional sub-region matches.     The holiday spirit was strong with area first responders and law enforcement, as the annual 'Holiday with our Heroes' was held Tuesday night, Dec. 10.
