The 68th Legislative Assembly reached crossover on February 23. After a few days' break, the House of Representatives and the Senate will begin the process of hearing and voting on bills that passed in the other chamber in the first half. On March 6, the Carrington Police Department responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Carrington, which turned into a lengthy chase spanning portions of Foster and Wells counties. On early Sunday morning, February 12, the farm house of Rudy and Alexis Theis, located four miles north and four miles east of Carrington in Estabrook Township, went up in flames. With it, many memories, along with much of their material possessions, were lost to either fire or smoke damage. The Carrington High School speech team traveled to Northwood on Saturday, Feb. 25 to attend the Thunder Invitational. The team placed second overall. The Carrington community hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on February 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church which helped collect a total of 49 units of blood products for patients in need. A total of 53 individuals volunteered to donate blood and 49 individuals were able to successfully donate at the Vitalant blood drive on February 6. There were three people who volunteered for the first time! Carrington High School organizations will hold a food drive for Carrington Daily Bread on Saturday, March 11 from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m., at the Carrington Elementary School.
