The Foster County Commission carried a motion to do so at their regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7. Since 2022, the 18 townships of Foster County have each been receiving an annual credit of about $4,500 from their county government, which has gone toward blading and snow removal bills. November 15, 2024 North Dakota regulators on Friday approved a route permit for the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline, a significant win for what the company says is the world's largest carbon capture project. The three-person Public Service Commission voted unanimously to approve the pipeline permit. CARRINGTON, N.D. – Area law enforcement agencies cooperated to apprehend a fugitive Saturday. Carrington Police Chief Chris Bittmann said he was made aware on Saturday, Nov. 2 that Kyle Maez-Schaak, 32, of New Rockford, had escaped from Grand Forks County Jail. Scott Tanata of Carrington is currently fighting his second battle with cancer, and a benefit account in his name has been set up at Bremer Bank. Scott was diagnosed with small intestinal cancer in 2022. He had surgery in May 2023, followed by 12 rounds of chemotherapy. His cancer returned in October 2024 in the same general area of the original cancer. This time, however, the cancer is inoperable due to the location. The CHS National Honor Society held its annual food drive last Sunday, Oct. 27 from 5-7 p.m. The 33 members were divided into five groups to circulate in their assigned areas of Carrington in their costumes. After a pizza supper when they returned to school, they took their 2,421 pounds of collected food to Carrington's Daily Bread.
