Bismarck - North Dakota Dollars for Scholars is accepting scholarship applications from North Dakota high school seniors and current college students starting January 1, 2024. Approximately $220,000 in scholarships will be awarded, ranging from $600 to $2,500 each for the 2024-25 academic year. Sixteen members of the Fessenden-Bowdon FFA Chapter traveled to Rugby recently to participate in the District 3 FFA Leadership Conference. After more than two years of discussions, building assessments and bid lettings, the basement of the Foster County Courthouse will get a major facelift in the new year. The Carrington City Council learned that the Carrington Police Department will receive monies from the State of North Dakota through the "Back the Blue Grant" which was created to be used to hire and retain law enforcement and correctional officers. In their second attempt to pass a bond referendum to approve funding for an addition and renovation to their elementary school facility in Buchanan, voters in the Pingree-Buchanan school district rejected the $5.1 million proposal at the ballot box.
