Carrington’s boys golf team waited out the snow melt, and finally got their bags and clubs on the course for a meet in Casselton Thursday, April 28. Local college baseball players and CHS graduates Kyle Leapaldt and Jayden Shipman haven't been "shut out" of the weather that has plagued their younger baseball-playing compatriots. Leapaldt, a sophomore infielder/pitcher for Bismarck State College, and Shipman, a senior infielder at Valley City State, have each contributed in outsized fashion for their respective programs. Harvey-Wells County took a limited squad to the Hazen Early Bird Invitational meet on Saturday, April 9, and came away with a couple of state qualifiers to start the outdoor season. The Harvey-Wells County junior high track and field team saw action Friday, April 8, at the Underwood Sports Complex in Underwood, N.D. Braylee Keller picked up event wins in the 100 and 200-meter hurdles for the girls’ team, as the Hornets finished in second place. The Carrington High School girls' softball program is a first-year team under the direction of Head Coach Sara Laib. The Cardinals were scheduled to play the team's first game on April 11 in Cavalier against Pembina County North, but the game was postponed due to weather and will be played on Tuesday, May 10. The Carrington Pitcrew youth wrestling program competed in the North Dakota State Folkstyle Tournament at the Bismarck Event Center March 25-26.
