Spell-bound: Carrington Spelling Bee held February 8

Carrington Public School's Spelling Bee was held Tuesday morning, February 8, in the Elementary Library. Eight total students participated in the bee, with four advancing to the oral round and the final two spellers, Drew Matt and Jacob Boeshans, testing their nerves to spell those final words that increased in difficulty with each round.

Students and judges involved in the event included, front row (L-R): Sam Garr, finalist; and judges Janice Harildstad, Valarie Patzer and Sara Pennington. Back row: Laken Johnson, Molly Hansen, finalist; Drew Matt, runner-up; Michele Seil, pronouncer; Ewan Aberle, Jacob Boeshans, champion; Aniston Hoornaert and Howard Simonson.

Spellers who advanced to the oral round were Molly Hansen, Sam Garr, Drew Matt and Jacob Boeshans.
