Mariann Doeling, RN, MAL, has been named president of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake in North Dakota after serving as interim president since May of 2021. Prior to this appointment, Doeling served as president of CHI St. CHI St. Alexius Health - Carrington, where she served in various roles for more than 26 years.
Doeling shared that her leadership philosophy is to have a good relationship with local community commissioners, city council, and in particular the mayoral office in order to gain their understanding and support. She explains that this strong connection with local partners can drive successfully achieving goals that will benefit the facility and consequently the community.
“It was a hard decision to make as I have been with CHI St. Alexius Carrington for so many years, and home town,” Doeling said of her appointment. “However, I feel I am leaving it in capable hands. And while Devils Lake has different challenges, I believe the staff and I can make positive changes that benefit staff and the community in the future.”
Doeling earned her BA in nursing with Summa Cum Laude honors and master’s in leadership from Jamestown College in North Dakota. She is a member of the North Dakota Trauma Association, and serves as a member of the North Dakota Board of Long-Term Care Administrators. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the North Dakota Hospital Association, and has years of legislative involvement at the state and national levels.
As for Doeling’s successor, Doeling told the Independent Tuesday that an individual had accepted the interim president position. However, a formal announcement hadn’t been made as of press time.
