Jaxon Gronneberg was a double winner for the G-M Titans individually, taking the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes at the Red River Valley Conference Indoor Track Meet, and running on the winning 4x300-meter relay team as well.
Klaire VenHuizen hits the pit in the girls' triple jump. VenHuizen finished 10th in the event.
In their second indoor meet of the season, the Griggs/Midkota Titans had some outstanding individual performances to place fourth in the boys' division and fifth in girls at the Red River Valley Conference Indoor Friday, April 1, at the UND High Performance Center in Grand Forks.
The G-M boys, with 75 points to finish behind meet winner Hillsboro/Central Valley's 154, were led by two wins from sprinter Jaxon Gronneberg (60, 200-meter dashes), and he also ran the second leg of the winning 4x300-meter relay team.
Other good performances on the boys' side for the Titans included Eli Larson's second-place run in the 3,000 meters, and Gavin Nelson finishing just .17 of a second behind Gronneberg in the 60 for third place. Nelson also took fifth in the 200.
In the 300, eighth grader Wayland Sabinash took third.
The 4x400 and 4x600 relays were also placers for Griggs/Midkota, finishing third and sixth.
In the lone throwing event, Lane Kautzman was fourth in shot put.
The Titan girls scored 60 points, led by wins from Asia Becherl in shot put and Jenna Larson in the high jump. Larson was also the pole vault runner-up, third in the 300 and fourth in the 200 dashes.
Third place also went to Kaylee Johnson in the shot put, while fourth place efforts came courtesy of Eryn Turner (3,000) and Leila Haertel (triple jump)
