Foster Museum has photo negatives

There are many, many photograph negatives available free of charge at the Foster County Historical Society Museum.

Society Secretary Cathy Paulson said last week, "There are literally thousands of 5" x 7" negatives from the old Carlson studio," which was housed in the upper story of the current Foster County Senior Citizen Building, just south of Central Pharmacy.

"They are all marked on the side as to who paid the bill for the actual photographs and we are not sure of all the years they were taken," Paulson added.

Carlson Studio was in business from 1927 through the 1940s.

The museum will give these negatives to the families who claim them by calling Paulson at 652-2587 or Joanne Jensen at 307-0228. Persons may come to the museum and check the index they have made to look for your family.

Paulson and Jensen are in the process of cataloging the many items in the museum and continuing the volunteer work from the past.

The Society is always open to monetary donations to assist in covering charges needed in the process of sorting and displaying.
