District 29 Democratic- NPL met for the reorganizational and nominating convention on March 6 in Cooperstown to elect district officers and endorse candidates for the legislature.
Ben Vig of Sharon was unanimously voted on as Chair for the new legislative district 29 that includes Foster, Griggs, Nelson, Steele and rural Stutsman counties, including southwest Jamestown.
Odd numbered districts are scheduled to be on the ballot this year as well as other districts after the redistricting special session. Delegates to the convention unanimously endorsed Ben Vig of Sharon for N.D. Senate, and Charles Linderman of Carrington for the N.D. House of Representatives.
Ben Vig of Sharon was first elected in 2006 to the House of Representatives, serving in the 2007 and 2009 legislative sessions. His committee assignments included Agriculture, Finance Taxation, Judiciary and Long Term Care. Vig farms near Sharon with his wife and two kids.
Charles Linderman of Carrington was first elected in 1982 to the House of Representatives, serving in the 1983, 1985, 1987 & 1991 legislative sessions. His committee assignments included Agriculture, Judiciary, Finance Taxation, and Political Subdivisions. Linderman farms near Carrington with his wife Ellen.
The Primary election is on June 14, and the General Election is on November 8.
