Stanley Scheck

Stanley George Scheck, age 69, was born on August 12, 1952, in Jamestown, N.D., and passed on April 25, 2022, at his home in Hawley, Minnesota, while under the care of Sanford Hospice.

He grew up on a farm near Edmunds. He started school at a country school in Edmunds, N.D., and graduated from Carrington High School, Carrington, N.D.

He worked in concrete for most of his life, enjoying the creativity of it. His concrete life was only interrupted by a 10-year stint as Stan the Man at a nursing home. He retired from concrete in 2019 and enjoyed the increased time spent with his Lake Fifteen family.

He is survived by his pride and joy, Christopher Scheck (Heather) and Andrew Scheck (Firestar); his grandchildren, Jack, Meg, Samantha, Jayme, Zoe, and Jake whom he was so proud of; by his sister, Terry Scheck (Ray Mulvey); his brothers, John Scheck (Donna) and James Scheck (Shari); his blended family of Ryan Benson and Riley Wanzek; his dog, Casper and wife, Lynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Stanley Scheck and sister, Mary Michon Scheck.

Special thanks to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, specifically for guidance and care provided by Dr. Wiisanen, and the tender care that he received from the nurses and staff at Sanford Hospital, especially to the 7th floor oncology. No public service will occur.
