Carrington’s boys golf team waited out the snow melt, and finally got their bags and clubs on the course for a meet in Casselton Thursday, April 28.
The Cards placed sixth overall out of 10 teams at the meet with an 18-hole score of 387. Kindred won the competition with a 331 score, followed by Central Cass (334) and Oak Grove (341).
For Carrington, the top shooter was Wyatt Walker with a 45 on the front nine and 43 on the back to finish at 88. Gabe Ricter shot 49-48-97 to take second best among Cardinal golfers.
Other scores were submitted by Jacob Page (50-50-100), Hudson Topp (55-47-102), Calvin Sisson (53-56-109), and Carter Larson (56-58-114.)
The best players on the day were Oak Grove’s Cody Card and Kindred’s Max McQuillan, both shooting scores of 78. Four other golfers shot 80 to finish third through sixth.
The Cards competed at Wahpeton this past Monday, and played in Cooperstown on Friday.
The 2022 State Class B Boys’ Golf Tournament will be held at Oxbow Country Club in suburban Fargo May 31-June 1.
