Carrington third baseman Brynn Smith lets fly with a throw in the infield in action from McVille against Dakota Prairie. Smith had a hit in four trips in game one, and went 2-for-2 with a pair of stolen bases in the second contest.
The Carrington girls softball team came within three outs of their second win of the season, but the Dakota Prairie Knights got two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take an 8-7 win over the Cards in McVille Friday, May 6.
Game two was a close affair at 3-3 until the Knights put up 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth, and DPHS would win via the mercy rule by that score, 14-3.
