There can only be one mayor of Carrington, but two residents are vying for the seat.
The incumbent and current mayor of Carrington, Tom Erdmann, would like to be mayor for another term, while the challenger, Jeremy Miller, would like to prove he has what it takes to do the job.
Either way, whoever wins a seat at the table, the decision will be final at the primary election on June 14.

Erdmann grew up in Goodrich, N.D., he used to swim at the pool in Carrington as a child.
He has lived in Carrington since 1977 and was a part of the Carrington Economic Development board since 1990 and was chairman for many years as well.
Erdmann help-ed to develop the pasta plant and helped bring VanBedaf Dairy to the area. He also had a hand in collecting the one-cent sales tax, sat on the Lake Agassiz Water Authority Board for many years as well as many other boards since coming to the area.
"The city's financial health has improved since I have become mayor of Carrington.
"I have only missed one council meeting in four years," said Erdmann.
He said he wants to be a part of the city moving forward.
Erdmann has been Mayor of Carrington for four years and would like to continue to help the city thrive for the next four years.
Jeremy Miller
Miller has lived in Carrington since 2016, coming from Washington State.
He currently works at Larsen Plumbing, but has also worked with Gussiaas Electric and Carrington House Moving.
Miller is married with two children and doesn't plan on going anywhere.
"I want to be mayor. I see how Carrington is and it can be more than what is presented," said Miller.
"I want to bring business to Carrington and make Main Street business centered," said Miller.
"I also want to see if Carrington qualifies for CIRD (Citizen's Institute on Rural Design).
Miller said he got the 60 signatures needed to be on the ballot in one day.
"I knocked on doors, I talked to people," said Miller.
"I have always wanted to be in politics," said Miller.
Even though Miller has not sat on any boards in the past, he is confident he would be a good mayor for Carrington and he is not afraid of the challenge.
