Hoeckle named South Central Coach of the Year

CHS track and field Coach Greg Hoeckle was selected as the 2022 South Central Region Girls' Coach of the Year at the regional meet in Hazen Saturday, May 21, by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA). With that honor, Hoeckle became eligible for Class B Coach of the Year honors to be announced the following week.

Hoeckle has been the Cards' coach since 1990, and has led the team to nine state Class B girls' championships, including six straight from 1999-2004 and another three-peat from 2012-2014. His Cardinal teams have also won numerous regional titles on both the girls and boys' sides.

Bowman County's Jon Jahner was the Class B Girls' Coach of the Year, while the Boys Coach of the Year was Josh Allmaras of Kindred. Both of those awards were announced at the State Track and Field Meet at the MDU Resources Community Bowl May 26-28.
