Music, classes at Putnam House

Events are planned at the Putnam House, 533 Main Street, Carrington, for the month of August.

The first event, "Music on Main," will be held on Wednesday, August 3 at 7 p.m. on the Putnam House lawn. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and sit back and enjoy the music of Brian Duursma, Dusty Carr and Alison Schumann. A freewill offering will be taken.

The Putnam House will also be offering three different classes: a beginning sewing class for kids, a garden mosaic class and a barn quilt painting workshop.

The Kids Beginning Sewing class will be held on Wednesday, August 10 from 9-11 a.m. at the Putnam House. Basics of threading, operating a sewing machine, and cutting fabric will be taught by Lindsay Ostlie. Participants will make a bean bag/rice packet to take home with them. Kids ages 8 and up are welcome. Cost is $15 per person. Class limit is eight kids. Call or reserve a spot.

A Barn Quilt Painting Workshop will be offered on Saturday, August 13 at the Putnam House from 9 am. to 4 p.m. Participants choose in advance the size they would like, and cost varies according to size picked. The class is taught by Lindsay Ostlie. Please bring your own lunch. Call to register and get more details of class.

The Garden Mosaic class (stepping stones) will be held Monday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam House. All ages are welcome. The cost is $20 per person.
