VFW Memorial dedication held at Harvest Festival

A special ceremony was held prior to the start of festivities at Glenfield's Harvest Festival Saturday, July 23, for the dedication of a brand-new memorial to honor the town's servicemen and women just to the south of the Community Center.

Fadness-Walen Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9068 of Glenfield arranged for the construction of a flower bed, and a granite memorial stone with the insignias of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and U.S. Coast Guard, on front, and the names of all Glenfield VFW members on the back side. There are also twin benches with the inscriptions, "All Gave Some, Some Gave All" and "If You Love Freedom, Thank a Vet!"

Members of Fadness-Walen Post 9068 present at the ceremony were, left to right: Jim Johnson, Noreen Bartlett, Jim House, Jon Haugen, Dennis Haugen, Larry Erickson, Bobby Johnson and Kent Anderson.
