Wessly Overby
Mass of Christian Burial for Wessly Arthur Overby, 49, of Ashley, N.D., was held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Carrington, N.D. Rev. Fr. Terry Dodge officiated. Burial was in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery at McHenry, N.D.
There was a Rosary and Liturgical Wake Service at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 29 at St. David's Catholic Church in Ashley. Rev. Fr. Wenceslaus Katanga officiated.
Wessly died August 21, 2022, at his home.
Wessly was born January 25, 1973, to Garry and Susan (Miska) Overby at Jamestown, N.D. This is where he grew up. He attended Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo, N.D., for one year but returned to Jamestown and graduated from high school in 1991.
He then attended Bismarck State College and studied mechanics. He made his home in Jamestown and later in Carrington, N.D., where he married Michelle Komjati at Pingree, N.D., in 1994. He then lived in New Rockford, ND. Over those years, Wessly did mechanic work and had other miscellaneous jobs.
He was united in marriage to Vivian Schulz on April 20, 2009, at New Rockford. They made their home in Carrington and in 2012 they moved to a farm near Ashley.
Wessly worked for K & C Acres of Monango, N.D. In 2016, they moved to Sykeston, N.D., where he worked for J&J Striping. In 2019, they returned to Ashley where he was employed at Green Iron Equipment.
Wessly loved the Miami Dolphins and riding his Harley Davidson on the open road. He had a large family and enjoyed spending any time he could with his children and family. He was a member of St. David's Catholic Church, where he served as a lector.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Vivian of Fargo; children, Tyler (Morgan) Hahn of Jamestown, Brittany (Quintin) Simon and Amanda (Sean) Boyer, both of Carrington, and Janice Overby, Susan Overby, Dale Overby, Gloria Overby and Wessly Arthur Overby, Jr., all of Fargo; five grandchildren, Autumn Hahn, Alexa and McKenzie Simon and Kayden and Karsen Boyer; his parents, Garry and Susan Overby of Ashley; sisters, Cindy (Robert) Thompson of Jamestown and Khristal (Roy) Stoppleworth of Ashley and brothers, Dale Overby of Jamestown and Kelly (Johanna) Overby of Springfield, Missouri.
Honorary Urnbearers were Wessly's children, grandchildren, and Jayson Carter.
Urnbearers were Joe Jacobson, Sean Boyer, Cody Biel, Mike Miska, Tyler Hahn, Brian Wagner, and Garry Fliflet.
