Fargo, N.D. – American Legion Auxiliary Department of North Dakota is proud to announce that Marlene Boyer, Carrington, N.D., was elected as Northwest Division National Vice President at the American Legion Auxiliary National Convention held in Milwaukee, Wis., August 26 – September 1, 2022.
Marlene was installed along with other national officers in a ceremony held on Aug. 31, at the Wisconsin Conference Center in downtown Milwaukee. She will serve as the representative of the American Legion Auxiliary's Northwest Division which includes, Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming through August 2023 when a successor is named.
Marlene's eligibility for membership in the American Legion Auxiliary comes through her three brothers who all served in Vietnam and her son, Captain Garrett Luke Boyer currently serving in the US Army at Fort Stewart in Georgia.
She is currently an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary John Raymond O'Hara Unit 25 of Carrington, N.D. Marlene's auxiliary work includes serving in various offices at the Unit level, several terms as President of North Dakota's District 4, Department Chairman for Poppies, Education, Americanism, Membership and Girls State. Marlene also served as Department Vice President (2013-2014), Department President-Elect (2014-2015), Department President (2015-2016), and North Dakota's National Executive Committeewoman (2016-2017).
Marlene and husband Gary currently reside in Carrington, N.D., and are the proud parents of three children and eight grandchildren. They are proud of the accomplishments of their children and grandchildren including son-in-law Regan Miller, a retired US Air Force Major, currently serving as a physician with the VA Medical Center in Fargo.
