Local runners at Blue and White

One of the larger meets of the season so far had several lightning-related delays, but once the starter's gun went off and the skies cleared, it was smooth sailing at Valley City's Bjornson Golf Course for the Blue and White Invitational Saturday, September 17.

Carrington, Griggs/Midkota and HWC all attended the meet, which also featured many Class A schools.

The Cards placed ninth overall in both the boys' and girls' varsity races with 270 and 290 points, while the Titans' numbers in the boys' JV race allowed them to post a low score of 56 points to take third place. The Hornets had one JV boys' runner.

Baylee Lura placed 31st for the varsity girls (22:07) and Ewan Aberle was the top runner for the CHS boys in 43rd (21:00.7), barely edging out teammate Trace Hoggarth in 44th (21:01.6).
