Braaten on Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Carmon Braaten, Carrington, was among the 11th Honor Flight out of Grand Forks International Airport, Grand Forks, N.D.

One-hundred seven Korean and Vietnam veterans were flown to Washington D.C., leaving on Sunday, September 11 and returning back at Grand Forks International Airport on Tuesday evening at around 8 p.m.

Each veteran could bring a companion or caregiver along and Carmon's son, Kyle, joined him on this memorable trip.

He enjoyed seeing all the different memorials and visiting with people.

Carmon served in the Army from 1969-1970. When returning home, he joined the National Guard. After 23 years of service, he retired in 1997.
