County commissioners choose board

The North Dakota County Commissioners Association (NDCCA) met Monday, October 3, to elect new leadership on its Board of Directors for 2023.

Commissioners elected Stark County Commissioner Neal Messer to join the Board, re-elected Pembina County Commissioner Nick Rutherford to continue serving, and re-elected McIntosh County Commissioner Perry Turner to continue representing North Dakota on the National Association of Counties.

The NDCCA Board of Directors officers are:

• Chad Peterson, Cass County Commissioner, President

• Karen Anderson, Walsh County Commissioner, Vice President

• Joan Hollekim, Mountrail County Commissioner, Treasurer

• Perry Turner, McIntosh County Commissioner, Past President

The Board of Directors are:

• Glenda Collier, Eddy County Commissioner

• Cory Hanson, Williams County Commissioner

• Jim Kapitan, Cass County Commissioner

• Neal Messer, Stark County Commissioner; newly elected

• Nick Rutherford, Pembina County Commissioner; re-elected

• The Ex-Officio Members:

• Perry Turner, McIntosh County, National Association of Counties Board of Directors representative (re-elected)

• Scott Ouradnik, Slope County Commissioner, Western Interstate Region Board of Directors representative.

The North Dakota County Commissioners Association was established in 1905 to serve and support the interests of North Dakota's county commissioners. Governed by a nine-member board, the NDCCA conducts business two to three times a year.
