Titan netters drop two

Griggs/Midkota took two defeats during last week's worth of volleyball matches, falling in three sets to Hatton-Northwood in a nonregion contest and dropping a District 5 outing with Ellendale.

In the loss to the Thunder on October 6 (19-25, 15-25, 18-25), Asia Becherl led the Titans with eight kills and two aces. At the net, Lauryn Halvorson stopped two attacks for blocks, and also finished with four kills and eight digs.

Andie Anderson paced the back passers with 12 digs, and Ryan Johnson had 10 assists for Griggs/Midkota against H-N.

The all-important league match went to the Cardinals by scores of 27-29, 19-25 and 17-25. Statistics from that match were not available at the time this issue of the Independent went to press.

With the loss, the Titans fell to 5-6 in regular season regulation matches, and 1-3 in District 5 play.

Griggs/Midkota travels to Carrington today (October 17) for another District 5 slate, and hosts Kidder County at MHS in Glenfield Tuesday night in intra-Region 3 action.
