A piece of the Foster County Fairgrounds will be repurposed for a new life on a cattle farm just outside of Fessenden.
The former rabbit/poultry judging building, which was also used as the home of food vendors at the fairgrounds for many years until the new building was built in 2012, was pulled off its concrete foundation last Tuesday morning, October 25, and taken to its future home, where it will be utilized as a calving barn, according to Darwin Solberg of the Foster County Fair Board. Solberg added that the old space will be part of the site of a planned picnic shelter.
Carrington House Moving was hired for the task of removing the structure and transporting it to the farm, which is operated by brothers Craig and Jim Wiesz.
