A special tree will be brightened at CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington Medical Center on Monday November 28 at 6:30 p.m., when Carrington Medical Center Auxiliary celebrates its 36th year of the "Tree of Lights."
This year there will not be a special program; however after that date you may drive by and view the tree in the south courtyard at 800 N 4th Street.
The 15-foot tree was donated by Royd and Jeanne Unruh in memory and honor of Mary Beth (Theis) Schuchard.
Throughout these 36 years the "Tree of Lights" project has not only raised funds to purchase needed medical equipment for CHI Carrington Health Center and Ambulance, but also provided a way to remember loved ones and greet friends or relatives. For the past 20 years, half of the proceeds have been shared with CHI-Health at Home, Home Health and Hospice at Carrington Medical Center.
Lights may be purchased until December 19, 2022. To purchase a light, fill out a form available at Carrington Medical Center, the New Rockford clinic, local and surrounding churches, some businesses and from the November 7, 2022, issue of the Foster County Independent.
Light donations are $2.00- white lights, $5.00- blue lights, $10.00- green lights, $25.00- red lights and $50.00- gold lights. These lights may be purchased in memory of someone or as a greeting to someone.
Donors to the "Tree of Lights" project are recognized on a donor's wall in the south lobby at Carrington Medical Center by the Happy Heart Hutch Gift Shop. There will be a list in the Foster County Independent after January 9, 2023.
