The Carrington FFA Chapter placed third in overall competition at the FFA District 6 Leadership Conference held in Tappen, Thursday, December 8.
The Carrington FFA Parliamentary Procedure Team placed third in the district competition, earning a Gold Team Award. The team consisted of Kennedy Wendel-Silver President, Joe Lindberg-Gold Vice President, Nicole Lee-Gold Secretary, Karlee Lesmann-Gold Treasurer, Kylie Skadberg-Gold Reporter, and Wyatt Neuman-Silver Sentinel.
The FFA Advanced Quiz Team of Joe Lindberg, Nicole Lee, Kennedy Wendel, Emma Aberle, and Trisa Schroeder earned a silver team award. Lee earned a gold individual award. Wendel, Lindberg, Schroeder and Aberle all received silver individual awards.
The FFA Greenhand Quiz Team placed first, earning a gold award. Bailey Ness was one of three individuals tied for the first place individual. Molly Hansen, Maddyx Davis, Kelsi Neuman received a gold award; Sam Simons and Abby Lee received silver awards; and Jacob Hinrichs, Jaedyn Lura and Cody Otto received a bronze award.
Tyler Walker received a silver award in the FFA Prepared Public Speaking competition. Tyler's speech was on the topic of purchasing locally grown food products.
Baylee Lura placed second in the District 6 FFA Job Interview competition. The competition is based on her cover letter, resume, job application form, and her personal interview. She will advance to the State Leadership Development Events competition in January.
Molly Hansen placed first, earning a gold award in the FFA Creed Public Speaking competition. She presented the FFA Creed from memorization and answered questions related to the FFA Creed. She will advance to the State Leadership Development Events competition in January.
In the Demonstration event, Isabel Wendel and Sierra Friedt placed first, earning a gold award. They presented a demonstration about how to prepare a sheep for the show ring. They will advance to the State Leadership Development Events competition in January.
The Conduct of Chapter meetings team placed first, earning a gold award. Molly Hansen was the President of the Day, Abby Lee-Vice President-gold award, Jaedyn Lura-silver Secretary, Bailey Ness-Treasurer of the Day, Kelsi Neuman-silver Reporter, and Ashley Lindberg-Sentinel of the Day. Sam Simons served as the Student Advisor. The Conduct of Chapter Meetings Team will advance to the State Leadership Conference Events competition in January.
