Storm sends sports squads scrambling to schedule

Three days worth of falling, blowing and drifting snow put a sizable dent into the schedule of Carrington athletic teams.

The Cardinal girls’ basketball team’s game versus NR-S in Carrington, originally scheduled for December 13, was postponed until Thursday, February 2, starting with JV play at 6 p.m.

In addition to that, the girls were also forced to hold off their slated December 15 game with the Griggs/Midkota Titans until this upcoming Friday, December 30. Junior varsity will begin play at 1 p.m., followed by varsity at 2:30.

White stuff also axed the wrestling teams’ tournaments at Linton (boys) and Ashley (girls) on Friday and Saturday, December 16-17, as well as a combination boys’/girls’ dual slate at Lisbon that prior Thursday.

In place of those tournaments, both CHS grappling squads competed in a December 23 tournament in Valley City, the Holiday Boys and Girls Wrestling Classic.

The Lisbon duals have been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 10, with starting time to be determined at a later date.
