M-P-B had a mixed result in their Saturday, January 14, doubleheader at Ellendale, as the girls took a 16-point win, 48-32, and the boys fell to the fifth-ranked and still unbeaten Cardinals, 68-43.
The Thunder's Allison Thomas finished with 17 points and Lilly Bohl added 12 in the intra-Region 3 victory, which improved the girls' record to 5-6. Ellendale was paced by nine points from Kali Norton.
In the nightcap, high-flying EHS rode 21 points by Mason Molan, along with double-digit nights from Riley Thorpe (15), Jack Bommersbach (14) and Anton Geller (12) to another impressive triumph over the Thunder.
Just one M-P-B player reached double figures in the loss, that being junior forward Rylen Wick with 21 points. Three of his field goals were three-pointers.
With the loss, the Thunder dropped to 5-2 for the season, and Ellendale now sits at a perfect 9-0 for the winter campaign.
