East Region girls' duals held Friday

The Carrington girls’ wrestling team put their destiny in their own hands Friday, February 3, and hosted the first-ever East Region Dual Tournament in the East Gym.

First-round matchups pitted Central Cass against Pembina Co. North, and Lisbon taking on the Grand Forks (Central/Red River) Knightriders, and the second opening round session featured South Border versus West Fargo United (WFHS/Horace/Sheyenne) and host CHS wrestling Fargo. All first round duals began at 100 pounds.

Semifinals and first round consolation followed (105), and the championship and consolation semifinals after that (110).

Placement duals included the seventh place match, fifth place and third place duals, and a challenge dual, if needed, was also on the docket in Carrington.

The East Region championship participants, along with third place and fourth place winners, advanced to the State Class B Girls’ Dual Tournament in Fargo Saturday, February 18.
