Titans upend E-K-M in District 5 play

Griggs/Midkota had a sluggish push out of the starting blocks in their district game versus the E-K-M Rebels, but got progressively better as the game went on.

The Titans overcame a nine-point deficit at the end of the first quarter, but fought possession by possession to take a 51-46 win over the Rebels in Edgeley on Saturday, January 28.

Seven threes helped turn the tide for G-M, with sophomore Brady Haugen's 21 points and four treys proving decisive. Carter Spitzer had the other three long shots, and finished with 12 points.

E-K-M (6-5, 2-1 District 5) was paced in the books by 6'4" junior Jacob Nitschke's 13 points. Sophomore Joseph Kramlich had 11 tallies before fouling out, and Dylan Carlson finished with eight points.

Next on the schedule for the Titans (5-9, 1-4 District 5) is the final league game of the season in Leal Tuesday night, as they take on the BCN Bison. On Thursday, they host the Lakota Raiders in Binford.
