Fessenden-Bowdon FFA competes at state events

Six FFA members of the Fessenden-Bowdon FFA Chapter recently competed in the State FFA Quiz and Demonstration Event. The State FFA LDE (Leadership Development Event) Day was held on Thursday January 19, at the Bismarck Event Center.

The teams qualified for this event by placing second in the quiz and demonstration event at the District 3 FFA Leadership Conference held in Rugby on Monday December 5.

In the quiz event, the Fessenden-Bowdon FFA team competed against fifteen other teams. The top four teams would move onto a final bracket where they would compete against each other in game show style where whoever hits the buzzer first and answers the question right, gets the points.

The Fessenden-Bowdon FFA members placed 11th and got the bronze award for the day.

Individually Ryan Snively got a silver award, and Donavin Bartz, Delaney Erfle, and Gavin Mason all got bronze awards.

Glen Ullin, Oakes-Sargent Central, Napoleon, and Rugby went to the finals with the Glen Ullin Team being named the State Champion.

Also competing individually on January 19, was Rylee Jones. Rylee was competing in the Demonstration LDE and earned a silver award. Rylee qualified for the event by finishing second at the District 3 event in Rugby. Rylee's demonstration was "Stop the Bleed" and it was on how to stop the bleeding of an injured person in an agriculturally related incident.
