The Carrington High School speech team traveled to Northwood on Saturday, Feb. 25 to attend the Thunder Invitational.
The team placed second overall.
Individually, Sarah Hallwachs took first place in radio, which qualifies her for the state meet. She also placed third in speech to inform.
Joie Helseth took third in humorous interpretation. Joie Helseth and Maara Kutz placed third in humorous duo. Maara Kutz took eighth in poetry.
Alexis Harris took fourth in storytelling and Briley Carr placed fourth in humorous interpretation and EPR,
Sage Patzer took sixth in poetry and Kaley Kostelnik placed sixth in serious prose and seventh in poetry.
