Harry Lukenbach
Harry A. Lukenbach, Jr., 87, Sykeston, North Dakota passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at his home in Sykeston.
Private family services were held at Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Shirley Teske officiating. Burial will be in the Heaton Cemetery in the spring.
Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, North Dakota.
Harry Alvin Lukenbach, Jr., was born November 21, 1935, near Hurdsfield, N.D., the son of Harry and Mabel (Thorne) Lukenbach. He grew up in the Hurdsfield area and attended school there.
He married Pearl Muscha on June 1, 1954, at Fessenden, N.D., and they made their home near Hurdsfield for a time.
In 1960, they moved south of Sykeston, N.D., where Harry worked for Polries Farms. They later moved to Sykeston and started milking cows.
Harry loved to ride horses, hunting in his early years and traveling when he could; but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Harry is survived by his wife, Pearl, Sykeston; children, Kathy Klocke, Fessenden, N.D., Joan (Loren) Larson, Fargo, N.D., and Dean Lukenbach, Sedgwick, Kan.; sister, Nellie Whipple, Malone, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kim; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Lukenbach; son-in-law, Louis Klocke; brothers, Horace, Wayne, and Billy; and sisters, Alta Brakel, Margie Hafner, Mary Jane Hafner, Helen Francis, Harriet Brandt and Ruby Lukenbach.
