Mark Nevland
Mark Nevland, age 68, of Bottineau, N.D., passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his home in Bottineau.
Services will be planned at a later date.
Mark Nevland, a son of Fred and Helen (Harding) Nevland, was bon on March 6, 1955, in Carrington, N.D. He was raised there and graduated from Carrington High School in 1973. He moved to Williston in the early 1980s.
On July 3, 1983, he married Barbara Velo. Later that same year, their daughter Bonnie was born. Even though this marriage later ended, they continued to co-parent.
In Williston, Mark worked at the Super 8, Valley Truck & Marine, Wal-Mart and Morningstar. In 2007, he moved to Bottineau and worked at Wal-Mart and Theels. After a short retirement, he went to work at Auto Valu.
Mark enjoyed fishing, working on cars and playing on the computer. He loved spending time with his family and his dog.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Nevland (Brooks Hawkins) of Westhope, N.D.; grandchildren, Destiny, Dalton, Dayton and Dixon Hawkins; sister, Marilyn (Gary) Suckut of Summerset, S.D.; sister-in-law, Chris Nevland of Las Animas, Colo.; several nieces and nephews; and ex-wife, Barbara (Thayne) Pope and his dog, Rascal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Dena Nevland; maternal grandparents, George and Alma Mae Harding; and brother, Virgil Nevland.
