The Official Newspaper for Foster County
Welcome to another edition of Business Beat. This month we will highlight a few of our incentive programs available through our Carrington Economic Development.
The funds for these programs are made possible through our local city sales tax funds. Our Carrington Chamber & Economic Development board members review the applications that are submitted. If the project falls into the parameters of the incentive program, the board will recommend City Council approval of the application. Let’s look at a few of the incentive programs that we have available.
First, we have the Scholarship Program. This scholarship program assists businesses in sponsoring individuals who choose to go onto college or a trade school and receive a degree or certification. The Scholarship/Loan Repayment Program was constructed to assist businesses in obtaining qualified employees and to help individuals with the burden of postsecondary education costs.
The Carrington Chamber & Economic Development Corporation knows that this scholarship program will help local businesses obtain employees but it also aids in bringing individuals to the community. We work in tandem with the N.D. University System’s Career Builders Scholarship & Repayment program and local businesses who wish to sponsor a student.
Another successful incentive program we offer is the BND Flex Pace Interest Buydown Loan. This program combined with your local lender and The Bank of North Dakota provides interest assistance. This program is available to all new and existing businesses in the city of Carrington. Eligibility will be determined by your local lender and the Bank of North Dakota. Proceeds may be used to purchase real property, buildings, equipment and certain working capital requirements as determined by your local lender. Applicants need to be approved by a local lender to participate in the BND Flex Pace Interest Buydown Program.
The Carrington Chamber & Economic Development Corporation understands the need for quality daycare that not only allows parents the opportunity to seek employment but allows individuals to create a safe and fun learning environment for children in the community.
The Carrington Daycare Provider Grant is for newly licensed providers and for existing providers that are looking to add more child availability spots. This grant can be used for any expenses pertaining to their day care.
