The Carrington FFA Chapter held their Annual Parent/Member and Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 13 in the Carrington High School Gymnasium.
The annual banquet recognizes the members of the Carrington FFA Chapter for their accomplishments throughout the year. It also serves to recognize those businesses and individuals that have helped to support the local chapter throughout the year. The banquet received greetings from the State FFA Parliamentarian, Wyatt Kersten from Max.
The chapter recognized Brent and Joanna Lee with the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree. The award is presented to individuals that have assisted the chapter throughout the year.
The major awards were presented. The Outstanding FFA Member of the Year was presented to Nicole Lee.
The Star Greenhand is presented to the outstanding first year FFA member. The Star Greenhand was presented to Molly Hansen.
The Star Farmer and Star in Agricultural Placement are presented to a junior or senior FFA member who has established their Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. The Star in Ag. Placement was Ean Hovdenes and the Star Farmer was Trisa Schroeder.
The Dekalb Award is presented to the senior member that has established a strong Supervised Agricultural Experience Program, excelled in FFA activities and has a high academic standing. The Dekalb award was presented to Kennedy Wendel.
The top Ag. Mechanics exhibitor was awarded to Joe Lindberg and top Crops Exhibitor to Joe Lindberg.
In the winter Career Development Events of Crops and Livestock Judging, the Outstanding Livestock Judger was presented to Molly Hansen and the Most Improved Livestock Judger was presented to Jozey Retzlaff.
The Most Improved Agronomy Judger was awarded to Sam Simons, while the Outstanding Agronomy Judger was awarded to Wyatt Neuman.
The Dedication Award is presented to an FFA member who is active in the FFA but not necessarily involved in Career Development Events. This years Dedication Award was presented to Emma Aberle.
The Greenhand FFA Degree is presented to first year members that have met the standards set forth by the National FFA Organization. The Greenhand FFA Degree was awarded to Max Whitman, Talon Larsen, Bailey Ness, Ashley Lindberg, Molly Hansen, Kelsi Neuman, Cody Otto, Jacob Hinrichs, Abby Lee, Jaedyn Lura, Korbyn Zieman, Peyton Harrington, Noah Wobbema, Maddyx Davis, Reese Schaefer and Sam Simons.
The 2022-2023 Carrington FFA Chapter officers were recognized with a retiring officer plaque: president, Kennedy Wendel; vice president, Joe Lindberg; secretary, Nicole Lee; assistant secretary, Isabel Wendel; treasurer, Karlee Lesmann; assistant treasurer, Tyler Walker; reporter, Kylie Skadberg; sentinel, Wyatt Neuman; parliamentarian, Baylee Lura; historian, Lexi McClean; chaplain, Jozey Retzlaff and student advisor, Trisa Schroeder.
