Junior high Hornets at first outdoor meet

The Harvey-Wells County junior high track and field team traveled to Stanley on Monday, April 17, to participate in their first outdoor meet of the season.

The HWC girls' team finished with 42 points, placing fifth out of 16 scoring teams.

Addyson Faul claimed two first place awards, winning the triple jump and the 100-meter hurdles. Faul also finished second in the 200 hurdles.

On the boys' side, Christian Mertz finished second in the shot put and discus and seventh in the 100 dash, while Dylan Heitman picked up a third in the long jump, fifth in the 200 dash and sixth in the 200 dash for 31 team points and a seventh-place team finish.
