Several good marks for HWC at NDSU

The Harvey-Wells County varsity track and field team recently attended the Bison Stampede Indoor Meet on the campus of North Dakota State University.

The Hornets found some very good competition, with many Class A teams as well as an abundance of Minnesota teams competing. The meet took place on Thursday, April 13.

HWC highlights for the day included a photo finish in the 60-meter hurdles where the top three finishers all ran an 8.58. After review of the photo, it was determined that there was tie for first with Tallen Thorson and Trey Knoke of Fargo North. Gabe Allmaras was also a high finisher in the long jump, placing third with a 20'4" effort.

On the girls side, Christalea Wagner continues her great start, finishing sixth in the 200 and fourth in the 400 dash.

Hornet girls earning personal records (PR) on the day included Braylee Keller (60 hurdles and 400 dash), Larissa Arnold (60 hurdles, 4x200 and 200), Wagner (4x200), Rachel Neumiller (4x200), Kamryn Sanders (4x200 and 200), Addyson Faul (Triple Jump and 400 dash), Aubrey Thorson (200), and Breanna Heilman (200).

Hornet boys with PRs included Wyatt Korb (60 hurdles and 60 dash), Thorson (60 hurdles), Jayden Vlaminck (shot put), Jadyn Vollmer (60 hurdles), Aidan Hager (60 hurdles), Keaton Keller (60 dash and 4x200), Carson Heilman (60, 4x200 and 200), Harrison Lies (shot put), Quinton Deede (200), Dylan Heitman (200) and Allmaras (high jump and long jump).

Thorson's effort in the 60 hurdles was good for a new HWC indoor school record.
