Edythe Mittleider
A beautiful rose has been taken and planted in heaven's garden. On April 22, 2023, Edythe Marie (Lang) Mittleider, 85, was taken by our Savior to her home in heaven.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 27, at Steele United Methodist Church, Steel, N.D.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m., at Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel, Steele, N.D.
Edythe was born September 12, 1937, in Bismarck, the daughter of Richard and Florence (Langley) Lang. She grew up on a farm north of Sterling, N.D. She attended elementary school at Sterling and graduated from Bismarck High School.
On September 1, 1957, Edythe was united in marriage with Edmund Mittleider at the Sterling United Methodist Church. This union was blessed with seven children.
After her marriage, Edythe attended Valley City State College and received her teaching degree. She taught at Robinson and Sykeston, N.D. Following her teaching career, she worked for the Prairie Inn in Carrington and later operated the Country Café in Sykeston, N.D. After retirement she moved to Steele, N.D., in the fall of 2012.
Edythe was a member of the United Methodist Women's Club and looked forward to her time spent studying scripture with her Bible study group. Her favorite past times included embroidery, baking, gardening and tending to her beautiful flower beds. She cherished time spent with family and friends.
She will be remembered for her warm and loving heart, putting everyone before herself, no matter the hardships or setbacks she faced. Edythe was an example of a servant leader always taking the time to help others in need. She brought sunshine with her smile and laughter. She will be missed by all blessed to share in her life's journey.
She is survived by her seven children, Mary Ann Mittleider, Mark Mittleider, Carol (Rod) Walth, Kevin (DeLynn) Mittleider, Gwen (Rod) Odstrcil, George (Gaylene) Mittleider and Leroy (Christi) Mittleider; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, mother/father-in-law and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
