Foster County Farmers Union will again sponsor full scholarships for the 2023 summer youth camps, announced county president, Charles Linderman.
Junior camps are available for those who have completed grades 3-6 and senior camps for grades 7-12.
Campers get firsthand knowledge of the cooperative business model by organizing a camp co-op store to sell snacks, beverages and souvenirs. They also have lots of fun with sports, swimming, singing, dancing, campfires, talent shows and theme nights while gaining team and leadership skills.
There are two Farmers Union camps, one next to Jamestown Reservoir and one on Lake Tschida near Elgin. Several camp dates are scheduled for the season at each camp site.
Junior camps are four days and three nights while senior camps are five days and four nights. Bus transportation to and from camp may be provided where feasible.
Foster County Farmers Union will cover the full registration cost of both junior and senior camps. The first 10 to sign up will receive a $10 gift card for the camp co-op store. There are also awards for campers who refer other new campers.
You can register online at ndfu.org. If preferred, paper registration forms will be available in Carrington at Farmers Union Insurance, Randy Hooey Agency. Your Farmers Union membership must be current. Annual family membership if only $30. Camp dates and more details are available at the Farmers Union Insurance office or at ndfu.org.
