Brooks Harper presented an event held on Tuesday, May 9 at 10 a.m. for grades 7-12 at the East Gym at Carrington Public School.
Harper encouraged students to reach excellence beyond high school.
Just C-H-I-L-L-L was his message, which stands for the following:
C - Count your assets
H - Have healthy out
lets
I - Invest in yourself and
others
L - Lean on others
L - Let loose
L - Laugh
After the presentation, there was a breakout session and lunch for Best of Buddies (BOB) students. Brooks spoke to the students, and gave them advice for the obstacles they would face as they grow up.
A lunch was provided for participants. There were many different flavored pizzas, water and flavor packets, and a wide array of sweets to enjoy with the meal.
Door prizes were drawn for students to choose from and take home, along with books Harper wrote and signed.
