For the past three years, the Carrington Area Healthy Communities Coalition has been helping local participants play pickleball by offering lessons and equipment for use, all free of charge.
Learn more about how to play pickleball on Tuesday, June 6, starting at 7:00 p.m. Ray Johnson and Angela Boeshans will be at the Carrington City Park tennis courts to offer instruction and an opportunity to play. Pickleball equipment is available to borrow.

To promote pickleball in Carrington, the Carrington Area Healthy Communities Coalition is hosting a drawing for two Subway gift cards. To enter, all you need to do is borrow a set of the pickleball equipment. Each time equipment is borrowed is another entry in the drawing. Play between June and September 6 to be entered in the drawings.
Pickleball is America's fastest growing sport, according to NPR. Pickleball, a low-impact cross between tennis, ping pong and badminton, is often played on a tennis court using a paddle and a perforated plastic ball.
It was invented in 1965 in Washington state and is now played by millions – more than 36.5 million people played between August 2021 and August 2022, according to the Association of Pickleball Professionals.
