Great Plains Food Bank at Dakota Central June 15

The Great Plains Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be in Carrington on Thursday morning, June 15. Distribution will take place from Dakota Central’s south building at the corner of 6th Avenue North and 4th Street North.

Distribution is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. but will begin as soon as products are available. Patrons are encouraged to line up along 6th Avenue North (facing south) and 5th Street North (facing east).

The Great Plains Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry provides fresh vegetables, fruits, and shelf-stable items, and sometimes meat, bakery items, milk, or other items, to communities in need.

Items are distributed by local volunteers and delivered directly to people in need. Drive-by distributions allow clients to stay in their vehicles as items are placed directly inside their vehicle.

All in need of food assistance are welcome to receive food at no cost. A short intake form is filled out onsite; no pre-registration or referrals required.

At the same time and location, the Great Plains Food Bank will also distribute items for the Senior Food Pack Program (see related article on page 2 of this issue).

Weather permitting, the drive-by loading will be on the south side of the building, on 5th Street North. In the case of rain or other inclement weather, vehicles will drive through Dakota Central’s shop to protect volunteers.

For more information or to volunteer to assist with distribution, please contact Linda Schuster at 701-653-6028 or Brianne Partlow at 701-652-3184.
