Contractors for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project (RRVWSP) will be in the area in July to start boring under Bordulac Highway.
That is what the Foster County Commission learned at their meeting last week.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, June 6, a representative of Garney Construction attended the meeting to update the board on the project.
The board told the representative that in the contract they have 48 hours to complete that part of the project and that traffic will be diverted from Bordulac Highway to 73rd Avenue during that time.
In other business:
• Commissioner Becky Hagel reported that the remote emergency manager accepted another position and requested a change in hours.
The request was approved.
• The board heard from Foster County Tax Equalization Director Karen Evans who explained the revised Homestead Credit Act and presented an abatement from a Foster County resident.
• The board heard from courthouse custodian Craig Wiesz who attended to discuss mowing the museum and fairgrounds.
• North Dakota Health and Human Services inspected the campground at Lake Juanita.
Apparently they found only one discrepancy.
The campground must designate the “tents only” area with signs.
• The county received health insurance rate changes for the 2023-2025 biennium.
Since the employees of Foster County participate in the wellness program, the current rates are “grandfathered in.”
