The Official Newspaper for Foster County
Welcome to another edition of Business Beat.
This month we will highlight a few more of our incentive programs available through our Carrington Economic Development.
The funds for these programs are made possible through our local city sales tax funds. Our Carrington Chamber & Economic Development board members review the applications that are submitted. If the project falls into the parameters of the incentive program, the board will recommend City Council approval of the application.
In past Business Beat columns, I shared info on our Economic Development Incentive Programs. Let’s look at the remaining programs that we have not yet covered.
Our Job Credit Grant is available to support local businesses within city limits that create new job positions.
Existing businesses within city limits are eligible to apply for funds from our Business Improvement Grant. This grant assists businesses with improvements such as signage, plumbing, electrical, doors, windows, lighting, cement etc. Improvements not eligible include equipment and non-attached furnishings.
Lastly, we have the Demolition Cost Share Program. This program assists owners of dilapidated properties with the removal of any blighted or dangerous structures. Property owner is required to obtain a demolition permit from the City of Carrington and to follow the permit requirements.
If you would like to have more information on any programs we offer, feel free to stop by or give me a call. Our office is located at 871 Main Street and our office number is 652-2524. You may also find the incentive programs on the Carrington City website at: bit.ly/3UwuHxF
